What is a ScopLevel? |

| ScopLevel is a user friendly
anti-cant device that was designed for a scoped rifle. With it the shooter
can see the level above the vertical crosshair with the sighting eye while
aiming and verify that the vertical crosshair is straight up and down.
Levels are nothing new to rifle shooting. They have
been used on metallic sighted long range rifles for over one hundred years.
They are mounted beneath the front sight where they can be seen with the
shooter's sighting eye while aiming the rifle. For example, if a shooter were to make a 1000 yard shot with a 308 Win. 168 gr. Match bullet at 2600 FPS, the bullet would rise over 13 1/2 feet above the line of sight, or point of aim. Just a 6° cant, or one minute on a clock, will cause a miss of over 36 inches at that range. Any amount of cant has a negative effect because the trajectory of the bullet will miss the vertical alignment above the line of sight. So, the shooter today needs a level for the same reason as the old-time open sight rifle shooters needed them...FOR ACCURACY.
